3/12/09 - Community Training
72 adults with disabilities from across Suffolk have completed our first community training programme funded by Suffolk County Council. It gave members of the local community an opportunity to take part in ‘hands on’ activities. Using equipment funded by Suffolk County Council, the programme covered an introduction to interview and camera techniques, encouraging participants to try something new. The 6 groups made films exploring the Olympic and Paralympic values of Friendship, Respect, Determination, Inspiration, Equality and Courage.
3/12/09 - Launch of the Lap of Honour Web Site
This website has been launched to show the first 10 filmed interviews made between July 2008 and August 2009. Each film is accompanied by a direct transcript. During the next year other films will be added to this archive; we aim to have 18 completed films by August 2010. There will also be a range of interviews available as Podcasts.
