2000 - Sydney

Introduction
Olympics The amazing Birgit Fischer became the first woman to win medals twenty years apart when she took two gold medals in kayaking in Sydney. These Games also saw the first hosting of events in triathlon and taekwondo.
Paralympics The Sydney Games were a spectacular 11 days of competition for the record 122 countries taking part. For the first time female athletes could participate in powerlifting, and this resulted in an amazing seven world records being broken in two hours.
